Preston College puts technology first with digital signage

When Preston College opened its Visual and Performing Arts building, a new digital information point was put in place for staff and students. A digital wall made of 9 thin framed LCD screens powered by digitalsignage.NET was installed in the reception area of Preston College, to display scenes from recent plays and drama nights, RSS feeds and local traffic information.

Delivering information efficiently and brand building were of outmost importance to a college that is one of the best in England and winner of the LSIS Beacon Award for the Effective Use of Technology in Further Education Skills.

digitalsignage.NET allows assigned members of the staff to control the content shown on the screen remotedly and update it at any time, giving the college full control over its messaging.

The college's rich history and oustanding achievements are presented on a 21'' digital poster located outside the college's premises. The Time Capsule, run by digitalsignage.NET, presents  Preston College's evolution in pictures that inform the public about the institution's past.

Chris Dawson, Head of Corporate Marketing at Preston College said: ‘‘We are delighted with the installation of our new high impact LCD screens, and increasing our reputation as a College that is leading the way in the use of visual technology. The software allows us to be extremely responsive in uploading new content to the screens.

The college announces plans to expand its new information distribution system run by digitalsignage.NET by adding LED's and kiosks to the current install.

The system's installation was carried out by our valued partner, Chamber TV.
